Dmitry Batalov

Biography

Born and raised in Moscow, Dmitry Batalov studied piano with prof. Natalia Trull at the Central Music School and Moscow Conservatory. Since 2022 he resides in Switzerland and studies at the Basel Music Academy, where he obtained a master degree in specialized contemporary music performance, postgraduate course in piano, and is now enrolled in the specialized master degree in solo performance. He won the 2nd prize at the 14th Orleans Piano Competition (France, 2020), 1st prize at the Concours Nicati (Switzerland, 2025) and the 2025 Göhner Musikpreis. In recent years he has participated in the festivals like Voices (Berlin), Tzlil Meudcan (Tel Aviv), Bartolomeo Cristofori (Padova) and collaborated with composers like Helmut Lachenmann, Salvatore Sciarrino and Marco di Bari, among others.
