Patrick Hideomi Townsend

Biography

Patrick, age 18, is a frequent competition winner. He has performed internationally – including Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.1 & No.2 in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and recitals in UK, Europe, and Japan. In 2026, he became an overall winner at National Junior Intercollegiate Beethoven Piano Competition, He won Grand Prix at Vlll Future Star International Piano Competition, second prize at London Chopin International Piano Competition, First Prize at EPTA UK and EPTA Belgium. He is studying piano with Murray McLachlan at Chetham’s School of Music and will be studying with Joanna MacGregor at the Royal Academy of Music with full scholarship from 2026. “Pianist with a fabulous display of technical virtuosity and musicality”, Patrick is not afraid of risk taking for his musical expression
