Biography

Simon Bürki (b. 2000, St Gallen, Switzerland) began piano studies at age five in Kiev while attending school in Switzerland. After winning three prizes at the International Horowitz Competition in 2011, he became a laureate of the Denis Matsuev Competition in 2013. In 2015 he moved to Moscow, studying at the Central Music School and later graduating from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Andrey Pisarev. A prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Franz Liszt Competition in Weimar, he has performed at Fondation Louis Vuitton, Salle Cortot, Tonhalle Zürich and Gasteig Munich. In 2023 he released his debut album Reminiscence, dedicated to Rachmaninoff’s 150th anniversary. Simon currently studies with Sergei Babayan at the Meadows School of Music in Dallas.
