Tanrui Chen

Biography

Tanrui Chen, born in Shandong, China, began studying piano at the age of six with Shi Shucheng. He gave his first solo recital at the age of twelve and continued his studies in Shanghai with Li Jian and Andrei Ivanovich, during which he performed with several orchestras in China, including the Changsha Symphony Orchestra, Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, and Shandong Symphony Orchestra. At the age of fifteen, he moved to New York to study with Gary Graffman and Ignat Solzhenitsyn. He is currently preparing to begin studies with Eteri Andjaparidze.
